For the next three to four months, the board of management will ensure continued testing at Grantley Adams Memorial School to ensure the environment remains safe for both staff and students.

In providing an update to the MIDWEEK NATION on the first two weeks of the 2025 Hilary term, chairman George Griffith said there had not been a single complaint from the school, which was closed for most of last term to treat a stench caused by a combination of mould and paint.

President of the Barbados Union of Teachers, Rudy Lovell, who is a teacher at the Blackmans, St Joseph secondary school, said they also had no complaints.

Griffith visited the school since its reopening and said continuous testing as well as reporting were part of the recommendations to maintain a safe working environment.
