A new political group, the Conservative Barbados Loyalist Party, is expected to be launched on Saturday.

Reports are that it would be led by attorney Corey Beckles, known in the past for his social activism on a number of issues including elder abuse and human rights.

Beckles was quoted by Starcom Network yesterday confirming Saturday’s launch while a statement from the party’s vice president Anthony Hinds said Barbados already had suitable infrastructure and in the right hands could lead to real change for those here and overseas.

The party is, according to the statement, first and foremost conservative and secondly committed and loyal to the social, economic, political and health interests of Barbadians. (AC)
