Deceased in fatal accident identified

The deceased in this morning’s fatal collision has been officially identified as Ramon Ryan Arthur Power, 27, of Groves Hill, St. George.

According to police reports, the accident occurred around 2:40 a.m. along Paradise Road, St. George. Power was the driver of a double cab motor van travelling in the direction of Applewhaites when he attempted to overtake another vehicle.

He appeared to lose control of the van and was ejected from the vehicle upon impact.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene but found no signs of life. A medical doctor later pronounced Power dead at the scene.

Two other occupants of the vehicle, seated in the front and rear passenger seats, sustained injuries and were transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance for treatment.
