The Barbados Meteorological Service has issued a High-Wind Advisory for the island as wind speeds increase today.
Officials have confirmed that this weather system is not associated with a tropical storm or hurricane but is instead the result of the Atlantic High-Pressure system generating winds between 37 to 56 km/h (20 to 30 knots).
Higher gusts are expected, particularly during periods of moderate shower activity. Conditions are forecast to intensify again tonight as a shear-line affects the island.
Residents are urged to secure loose objects such as tents, inflatable structures, and garbage bins, as strong winds may cause these items to tumble or roll.
Authorities are also advising the public to monitor updates from the Department of Emergency Management (DEM), the Government Information Service (GIS), and local media outlets for further guidance.
