The One Family Programme will see priority housing being given to the most vulnerable.

On Tuesday during debate on the Appropriation Bill, 2025 in the House of Assembly, Minister of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs Kirk Humphrey said it had expanded the programme to allow other groups to participate.

“In evaluating the ISEE (Identification, Stabilisation, Enablement, Empowerment) bridge model we would have made some adaptation such access to more counselling. There are a number of people who would like the housing matters address and the Prime Minister, myself and the Member for Christ Church West would have spoken about the RUDC (merger of Rural and Urban Developmen Commission) prioritising those persons so that they have more

access to housing and we are putting them at the top of the list.

“The One Family is the 1 000 most vulnerable. There is no argument that these people need the support. In relation to health care we are prioritising that as well. In terms of welfare support people were able to get faster and more cohesive response.”

Manager of the programme, Nicole Daniel, said: “We would have learnt many lessons from the previous programmes and what we have recognised is the need for prioritising to make an impact in terms of the success of the programme.” (NS)
