Rebranding price concerns

Some Barbadians are not happy with the upcoming changes to Hanschell Inniss Ltd and Collins Ltd but are even more concerned whether they are going to end up pulling their pockets more.

Both Hanschell Inniss and Collins, staples of the Barbados business landscape, are owned by Trinidad-based Agostini Ltd, with Hanschell Inniss also partly owned by Goddard Enterprises.

A recent release revealed the companies were being rebranded as part of a larger regional rebranding exercise, with Hanschell Inniss becoming Acado (Barbados) Ltd and Collins becoming Aventa (Barbados) Ltd.

Following queries by the DAILY NATION, it was revealed these name changes were only for the corporate/wholesale offices as the retail stores in Fontabelle, St Michael, in the case of Hanschell Stores and Bridgetown, in the case of Collins Pharmacy, will retain their names.
