Barbados shone at times at the Wildey Turf yesterday, but it wasn’t enough to secure another victory in the Junior Pan Am Challenge hockey tournament.

Sterre De Koning was the star for the home girls and scored in the 36th minute but they were edged 2-1 by Trinidad and Tobago in a competitive Pool One match.

Goals from Natania Rowe (13th minute) and captain Robyn Dash (20th minute) were enough to give Trinidad and Tobago the hard-fought victory.

Barbados started the game with an early opportunity after a penalty corner to Keimah Alleyne but she shot narrowly wide of the goal.

Buoyant after beating Guatemala 6-0 on Sunday, Barbados played with confidence.
