Motorists and residents in Eden Lodge, St Michael are advised of a temporary road closure to facilitate scheduled roadworks in the area.

The Ministry of Transport and Works (MTW) has announced that Eden Lodge Main Road and Sorrel Lane will be closed from Friday, March 21, 2025, to Thursday, March 27, 2025, pending weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances. The roadworks will be carried out by Alpha Omega Construction Inc., with milling and paving scheduled daily from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

During this period, diversions will be implemented to manage the flow of traffic. No-entry signs along the affected route will be temporarily removed and replaced with two-way signs to accommodate the works. Motorists are advised to detour by taking a right turn at White Hall Road, then left onto Hinkson Land Street, followed by a right at Middle Lane and another right onto Boundary Road, continuing to Green Hill.

Drivers and other road users are encouraged to use alternative routes where possible and to follow all signage and instructions given by flag personnel on site.

The roadworks form part of a broader infrastructure enhancement initiative under MTW’s focused roadworks programme. The project includes milling, paving, kerb and slipper repairs, as well as the installation of sidewalks to improve road safety and accessibility.

Both the Ministry of Transport and Works and Alpha Omega Construction Inc. have extended apologies for any inconvenience caused and thanked the public for their understanding and cooperation. (MTW)
