New outpatient clinic coming soon

Barbadians will soon have access to a new outpatient clinic.

Come April 11, the Bridgetown International University (BIU) will be opening one with a diagnostic centre and pharmacy at its facility in Chelsea House, Chelsea Road, St Michael.

An official at the school told the Saturday Sun the new clinic will provide exceptional health care services.

Describing the facility as “cutting edge”, the official said it will provide specialties in paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, general medicine and psychiatry, among others. It will also offer radiological investigations such as CT scans, X-ray, mammogram, ultrasound and 2D Echo.

There will also be access

to liver and renal function tests, lipid profile, diabetic profile, hormone analysis as well as tests on the thyroid; tumour, infection and urine analysis, as well as pap smears, body fluids and semen analysis.

The BIU campus, which has its headquarters in India, has been operating in Barbados since 2017 providing medical education for aspiring doctors.

It offers a five-year MD programme based on the United States medical curriculum to medical students worldwide. (MB)
