Shooting in the Ivy

Update – A man was shot and killed this afternoon in The Ivy, St Michael, near Blenheim Pasture.

Acting Inspector Ryan Brathwaite of the Barbados Police Service confirmed that officers received a report of the shooting around 4:20 p.m. and dispatched several mobile patrol units to the area.

On arrival, police discovered the body of a male along 8th Avenue, Ivy, St Michael.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the man had been sitting outside a residence socialising when he was approached by two masked men.

A series of gunshots were heard, and the victim reportedly ran before collapsing and succumbing to his injuries.

A medical doctor visited the scene and pronounced him death.

Investigations are ongoing.
