Two charged in connection with Shawnathon Chase killing

Two teenagers have been jointly charged in connection with the killing of Shawnathon Chase, who was fatally shot at Silver Hill, Christ Church on March 25.

Kyirico Donte Darrell Clarke, 18, and Daquan Joshua Nurse, 16, both of Briar Hall Gardens, Christ Church, appeared before Magistrate Deidre McKenna today in the Oistins Magistrates’ Court.

They were not required to plead to the indictable offences.

The two have been jointly charged with the murder of Shawnathon Chase, and with endangering the lives of Jakeil Callender, Jamarie Bourne, and Joel Bourne. In addition, both Clarke and Nurse have been separately charged with the use of a firearm.

Clarke is being represented by King’s Counsel Michael Lashley. Both accused have been remanded to Dodds Prison and are scheduled to reappear in the same court on Thursday, May 15, 2025.
