The Ministry of Health and Wellness’ fogging exercises will continue this week in St Thomas and St George.
There will be no fogging on Monday, April 21, which is a bank holiday.
The programme to eradicate the Aedes Aegypti mosquito starts in St Thomas on Tuesday, April 22, in the following districts: Rock Hall Road, Rock Development, West View, Main Street, Ocean View Terrace, Sunset Drive and environs.
On Wednesday, April 23, the team will return to St Thomas to fog Rock Hall, Porey Springs, Dunscombe, Canefield Road, Farmers Tenantry, Farmers Housing Area, Plum Tree Road and neighbouring districts.
The following day, Thursday, April 24, the unit will finish up in St Thomas when Hillaby, Thompson Drive, Farm Path, Church Gap, Harewood Road, White Hill, Greg Farm, Turner’s Hall and environs.
Fogging for the week will conclude on Friday, April 25, when some areas in St George will be sprayed, including Bridge Cot, Market Hill, Belair, Bridge Cot Terrace, Cottage Link Road, Cottage Heights, Cottage Crescent, Grove Terrace, Grove Tenantry Road and surrounding areas.
Fogging takes place from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily. Householders are reminded to open their windows and doors so that the spray can enter. Children should not be allowed to play in the fog.
Members of the public are advised that the completion of scheduled fogging activities may be affected by events beyond the Unit’s control. In such circumstances, the Unit will return to communities affected in the soonest possible time. (BGIS)
