Parliament resumed this morning following the Easter break.

Deputy Prime Minister and Leader of Government Business in the House, Santia Bradshaw, introduced the Storm Water Management Bill 2025, which seeks to effectively manage the prevention of flooding caused by excessive rainfall and high tides.

The bill also aims to mitigate injury to persons from the movement of storm water and will incorporate a more comprehensive strategy for storm water management.

The highlight of the morning session was the announcement by Speaker of the House, Arthur Holder, that Edmund Hinkson, Member of Parliament for Saint James North, had officially submitted his letter of resignation, which was read to the House.(CS)
