Democratic Labour Party (DLP) leader Ralph Thorne is promising a clean campaign for the upcoming by-election.
Addressing the congregation of Restoration Ministries, Brittons Hill, St Michael, where the party commemorated its 70th anniversary, Thorne said they were going to conduct themselves with honesty, decency and humility.
Thorne, Leader of the Opposition, said the ultimate aim of the party was to uphold these ideals while sacrificing for others.
The DLP selected Felicia Dujon to contest the St James North by-election which will be held on May 21 to fill the seat left vacant on the resignation of Edmund Hinkson. She was among those at church.
Meanwhile Pastor David Durant called for an end to the violence as he said Barbados could not take much more. He said too many children were dying in the region and greater attention needed to be paid to their wellbeing. (CA)
