Kemar Stuart announces formation of new political party

Former General Secretary of the Democratic Labour Party (DLP) and 2022 election candidate for the City, Kemar Stuart, today announced the formation of a new political party, the New National Party (N.N.P).

In a press statement issued on Monday, the N.N.P’s executive confirmed Stuart’s appointment as Interim Political Leader and Spokesperson. S

Stuart, who is 30 years old, is expected to lead the party as it prepares for its official launch.

The statement read, “This statement announces the formation of the New National Party (N.N.P) as a political institution in the country of Barbados. The party’s executive wishes to appoint Mr. Kemar J.D Stuart as Interim Political Leader/Spokesperson of the New National Party.”

It also indicated that details regarding the in-person launch and press conference will be shared via the party’s social media platforms.

“The N.N.P seeks to bring new voices, new vision, [and a] new generation for national progress to Barbados,” the release added. (PR)
