High-ranking officials from Cricket West Indies (CWI) are expected to meet in Trinidad and Tobago within the next 48 hours to discuss the hot topic of who will be next West Indies Test match captain.

At this meeting officials will further examine the six candidates CWI has on a list, from which one will be chosen.

The players will have interviews upcoming and a recommendation will be made to the CWI Board of Directors. The meeting will also involve discussions on the proposed Test squad to face Australia at home starting next month, as well as the proposed ‘A’ Team to take on South Africa “A” in St Lucia later this month.

Six players who CWI believe meet the criteria to lead the regional team have been identified for the Test captaincy vacancy and interviews will be conducted, reliable sources said. (PS)
