Trucks runs off the road and crashes into bar

The man who died after an accident along the Mighty Grynner Highway on Saturday night was identified by a family member as O’Brien Dorant-Knight.

The 48-year-old of Seclusion Road, Black Rock, St Michael, died on the spot at Waves Bar after a lorry ran off the highway and crashed into the building where karaoke was in swing.

Five others were transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance. They were treated and discharged.

One man is dead and five people sustained injuries in a crash which occurred around 11:55 p.m. on Saturday along the Mighty Grynner Highway.

According to police, the lorry was travelling towards the Frank Worrell Roundabout when the vehicle ran off the road and crashed into Waves Bar at 3rd Ave, Brandons, St Michael, injuring six people.

One man died on the spot and the remaining five were taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance for treatment.

Investigations are continuing and police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact the Black Rock Police Station at 417 7500 or 417 7501.
