Consumers will face higher prices at the pump from midnight on Thursday, May 22, as the cost of gasoline and diesel rises. The price of kerosene will remain unchanged.

According to the Ministry of Energy, gasoline will now retail at $3.95 per litre, reflecting an increase of six cents. Diesel will increase by seven cents, bringing the new price to $3.40 per litre. Kerosene will continue to be sold at $1.26 per litre.

The Ministry noted that the adjustments are in keeping with Government’s ongoing policy to align local petroleum product prices with movements on the international market. This approach is intended to ensure fairness and transparency for consumers.

The Ministry further advised that the public can continue to expect retail prices to mirror global trends going forward. (BGIS)
