Vision Equipment Supply Ltd. is proud to announce the launch of the Caribbean’s first fully electric pickup truck, made possible through a strategic partnership with Geely Auto Group, one of the world’s top 10 automotive manufacturers and a Fortune 500 company for 11 consecutive years.

The official launch event takes place this Friday, May 30, 2025, at Bushy Park Circuit Inc., where the groundbreaking electric pickup from Geely’s Riddara brand will make its debut. The vehicle will be presented by Megapower, the exclusive local dealer and service partner for Vision Equipment in Barbados.

This milestone marks the beginning of a region-wide rollout. Following its Barbados debut, the electric pickup will be introduced in Trinidad & Tobago, with further expansion planned for Jamaica, Guyana, Belize, the Cayman Islands, and Honduras through Vision’s appointed dealer network.

“We’re excited to lead the charge in bringing electric utility vehicles to the Caribbean,” said Corie Daniel, Operations Manager at Vision Equipment Supply Ltd. “This isn’t just a vehicle launch – it’s a move toward energy independence and a cleaner future for our region. We’re proud to offer a practical, zero-emission alternative that supports national sustainability goals and gives businesses and individuals a powerful new option.”

Headquartered in Hangzhou, China, Geely Auto Group is a globally respected name in mobility, with more than 12 million vehicles sold worldwide. The group manages several high-profile brands including Geely Auto, Lynk & Co, Geometry, Volvo and Proton Cars.

The introduction of the Riddara electric pickup aligns with ongoing efforts in Barbados and across the region to promote clean energy adoption, reduce emissions, and diversify transportation options. Megapower, backed by Vision Equipment, will provide full support, including servicing and parts, to ensure a seamless ownership experience for customers in Barbados.

Media, stakeholders, and the public are invited to attend the launch event at Bushy Park to experience the vehicle firsthand and speak with representatives from Megapower and Vision Equipment.
