Fatal shooting in Eden Lodge

Update: Police have identified the victim in Monday night’s fatal shooting at Downhill Drive, Eden Lodge, St Michael as 24-year-old Donte Tyrell Alleyne of Block 20E, Downhill Drive.

According to reports, Police Operations Control received a report of the incident around 11:58 p.m. on Monday, June 2. Several mobile units were dispatched to the scene, where officers discovered Alleyne’s motionless body lying outside a residence.

Paramedics from the Ambulance Service were called and, upon arrival, found no signs of life. A medical doctor later visited the scene and officially pronounced Alleyne dead.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Alleyne was walking home when he was approached by an assailant. Several gunshots were fired, fatally injuring him at the scene.

Police are continuing their investigations and are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has information to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477, Police Emergency at 211, or the District ‘A’ Police Station at 430-7242 or 430-7246.

The identity of the deceased has not been released as yet. Investigations are ongoing.
