Police investigating separate shooting incidents

Update: The victim of Wednesday night’s shooting in Haynesville, St James has passed away. This was confirmed by Police Public Affairs and Communication Officer, Inspector Ryan Brathwaite.

The incident occurred just hours after another shooting in Eden Lodge, St Michael. Emergency services responded to the Haynesville scene, and the injured man was transported by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He later succumbed to his injuries.

Police have not yet released the identity of the deceased.

Police are investigating two separate shooting incidents that occurred Wednesday night in Eden Lodge, St Michael, and Haynesville, St James.

Reports indicate that in Eden Lodge, a man was shot multiple times by a masked assailant along Sorrell Lane. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m., and the victim was transported by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for medical treatment. His condition is not yet known.

This shooting comes just over a week after a fatal incident in the same district, where 24-year-old Donte Alleyne was gunned down on Downhill Drive on June 2.

Shortly after the Eden Lodge incident, another major shooting occurred in Haynesville, St James. At least six police units responded to the scene, and a victim was also transported by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Police investigations into both matters are ongoing.
