Public Relations Officer of the Sanitation Service Authority (SSA) Carl “Alff” Padmore confirmed one of their drivers was robbed at gunpoint today.

Padmore told Nation News the incident occurred at Chapel, St Philip this morning.

The man was robbed of jewellery, but was not hurt and was said to be cooperating with police.

“We are more concerned about how he is doing. He was not injured but we extend our prayers. This had to be a traumatic incident for him,” Padmore said.

“The SSA is concerned about crime because this is not the first time our drivers were attacked. We would have expressed similar sentiments before and we just wish the country would calm down. Violence is not the way.” (SAT)
