Barbados under flash flood watch

Date:

Share post:

Barbados is under a flash flood watch until early Friday morning as a tropical wave is triggering pockets of moderate to heavy showers.

Parts of the island have already recorded around one inch of rainfall, and an additional one to two inches with isolated higher amounts are possible tonight and into the early part of tomorrow.

Residents and visitors should also be aware that this alert level could elevate to red. It is currently at yellow.

A flash-flood watch is issued when heavy or excessive rainfall in a short period of time (generally less than six hours) could result in flash flooding within the watch area, but it does not mean that flooding will occur.

This bulletin will be updated at 6 a.m. on Friday, July 4, 2025, or sooner if conditions warrant. (PR/SAT)
