A man was taken for treatment at the nearby Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) after an accident earlier tonight at Fairchild Street, The City.

Policeman at the scene said the man was caught between a car and a truck but he appeared to be stable, with minor injuries.

The truck driver told the Nation team he stopped to let a vehicle pass and as he resumed he heard “a sound of bupps”.

“Then when I come out – three man went to beat me too – then when I came out, I see the man there laying down; but if you look at it carefully, you will see that he opened the car door on me because I far off the car.”

The Emergency Ambulance Service arrived on the scene and the man was taken to the QEH.
