The investigation into the dramatic escape of high-risk inmate Kishon Lemar Anderson Thomas from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) is complete, and Minister of Home Affairs Wilfred Abrahams has confirmed that those responsible for breaching security protocols have been identified and will face consequences.

“There can be no excuse for what happened,” Abrahams told reporters yesterday.

“We have concluded the investigation and recommendations have been made. Those directly responsible for the breach have been identified and action is certain to follow. Something as serious as this cannot be swept under the carpet.”

Thomas, also known by the aliases “Pappy”, “Paps”, and “Tom”, escaped on May 2 while receiving treatment at the QEH. His disappearance triggered a two-month islandwide manhunt and intense public scrutiny of the prison system.
