A tropical wave approaching the island has become less organised, says the Barbados Meteorological Services.

The wave, located approximately 800 miles/1287 km east-southeast of Barbados at noon today, will affect the island and the eastern Caribbean from Tuesday evening into Wednesday.

However, there are no watches or warnings associated with this system.

Barbados is forecast to get increased rainfall, with models indicating as much as 25mm (one inch) during that period. Flash flood watches or warnings can be issued at short notice.

Over the past 24 hours, the likelihood of development for this tropical wave has decreased sharply due to environmental conditions and any development is unlikely.

There is another tropical wave in the eastern Atlantic which will move towards Barbados and the region near weekend which will maintain wet conditions for the island. (PR/SAT)
