The Barbados Meteorological Services has issued a flash flood warning as a tropical wave continues to generate shower and thunderstorm activity.

Mostly cloudy skies and moderate to heavy showers with isolated thunderstorms are expected this afternoon.

Rainfall accumulation between two and three inches in moderate to heavy showers is likely and the wet conditions are expected to continue into tonight.

A flash flood warning is issued when flooding due to heavy or excessive rainfall in a short period of time (generally less than six hours) is occurring or is imminent in the warning area.

This warning was issued at 1.15 p.m. Wednesday and will be updated at 6 p.m. or sooner if conditions warrant. (PR/SAT)
