Another shooting death takes tally to 31

One man is confirmed dead and at least five others were injured in two separate shooting incidents last night.

At Scarborough, Christ Church, the road obliquely opposite the Oistins Police Station, one man was fatally shot and three others sustained injuries.

Police say “gunshots were discharged in an area where a group of people were congregating”.

The injured people were transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance, while the death brought the number of homicides this year to 31.

Meanwhile, The Nation understands two people were also injured in a separate incident at Haynesville, St James.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident at Scarborough or have any information to please contact the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1800-8477, Police Emergency at 211 or the Oistins Police Station at 418-2612 or 418-2606.
