Four former monarchs among 17 Pic-O-De-Crop finalists

Four former monarchs will be among those challenging reigning king Adrian “AC” Clarke for the title in the 2025 Courtesy Pic-O-De-Crop Competition.

iWeb, Classic, Quon and Mr Blood were among the 17 calypsonians who advanced to the finals, scheduled for Friday, August 1 at the National Botanical Gardens.

The National Cultural Foundation (NCF) officially released the list of finalists earlier today.

They were selected following judging in the island’s six calypso tents over the past two weeks. De Big Show produced the largest number of finalists, with House of Soca, All Stars Calypso Tent, and Shining Stars Calypso Tent also being represented.

There were no finalists from Super Gladiators or Stray Cats.

The finalists are as follows:

All Stars Calypso Tent

  • Colin Spencer – Singing for Jesus
  • Donella – Behind Closed Doors
  • Queen Kareen – My Condolences
  • Teri – AI

De Big Show

  • Biggie Irie – How You Get In Dis
  • Chrystal – Partying
  • Classic – Spot De Light
  • iWeb – Twisted
  • Jamal Slocombe – Don’t Forget Me
  • Mr. Blood – Don’t Wait
  • Raanan – What Dey Want

House of Soca

  • Billboard – Golden Crown
  • Doyenne – Anger Problems
  • Dynamo – Write Uh Wrong
  • Quon – Mr. Architect
  • Sir Ruel – Second Dat

Shining Stars Calypso Tent

  • De Announcer – National Carol Festival

House of Soca’s Keerah, with the song Neglect, was named the reserve.

The draw for order of appearance will be held at 5 p.m. today at Courtesy Garage, Wildey, St Michael.
