Jason Holder took four wickets and then smashed a boundary off the final ball of the game to lift West Indies to a thrilling two-wicket victory over Pakistan on Saturday night and level the three-match T20 International series.
The towering allrounder bowled an inspired spell to take 4-19 off four overs, as Pakistan struggled to 133-9 at the Central Broward Cricket Stadium in south Florida. He became the leading bowler in T20I for West Indies, surpassing Dwayne Bravo.
Needing eight runs from the final over, West Indies lost Romario Shepherd off the second ball. Then Holder and new batter Shamar Joseph were only able to score singles off the next three balls.
Shaheen Shah Afridi then bowled a wide to leave West Indies needing three runs from the final ball. Holder (16 from 10 balls) then found the gap at backward square to score the boundary they needed as the home side made 135-8
“We’ve had a fair bit of criticism which is warranted. We haven’t done justice to our potential. We can be a lot better, consistency has definitely plagued us,” Holder said.
The third and final match is on Sunday night at the same venue. First ball is at 8pm. (PS)
Was always a good player but got overworked over the Years.
PAK & WI play the same kind of Cricket.
