Leighton Sylvester Greaves was adamant there was a law which said cases must be dismissed if a file was
not produced within six months.

“It all over Parliament. I is hear things,” said the accused who is on remand at Dodds Prison.
Greaves, 54, of Windsor Road, Bank Hall, St Michael, was charged with damaging a car belonging to Grace Price on January 22 this year; damaging the house of Price on January 23; using the threatening words “I gine r******* kill you” to his relative Gloria Greaves on February 24, with intent to cause her to believe that immediate unlawful violence would be used against her; and damaging a window belonging to CRS Building & Maintenance on February 26. He had pleaded not guilty to the offences.
After prosecutor Sergeant Reginald Blackman renewed the prosecution’s objections to bail, the accused countered by saying he had been on remand for almost seven months and the prosecution “has not produced any file or no disclosures”.
“Forty-eight convictions, I already pay for them,” he declared. “The law already says if the file hasn’t been produced in six months, the matter has to be dismissed.” he said.
