Thorne ratified as DLP candidate for St John

It is reported Leader of the Opposition Ralph Thorne was last night ratified by the Democratic Labour Party (DLP) as the candidate for St John.

Thorne, the incumbent two-time representative of Christ Church South has been mum on which riding he would be contesting since crossing the floor from the ruling Barbados Labour Party.

The Nation understands he was among a number of candidates ratified by the party, which will be hosting a press conference this morning. The party has already announced several candidates.

The DLP will hold its annual conference next week.
