The search for missing fisherman Antonio Jerome Yearwood is now a recovery operation.

Lieutenant Shimar Gollop, the Barbados Defence Force’s media relations officer, said yesterday they had updated their search for him.

“The Barbados Defence Force commenced a search and rescue operation for a missing fisherman on Monday . . . . Today, according to the operational procedures of the Barbados Coast Guard, given that 72 hours have elapsed, the search and rescue operation has been updated to a search and recovery operation,” she stated.

Yearwood, 39, alias “Tone”,

of Mount Friendship, St Michael, was one of two men on board a fishing boat which capsized last Sunday near the Bridgetown Port. The other man was rescued.

One of Yearwood’s neighbours said he lived alone as his parents resided in Canada. She added he was born in Barbados but left to live in Canada at age five, moving back home around ten years ago.
