The Barbados Meteorological Services is closely monitoring a tropical wave in the central Atlantic, located east of Barbados.

In its 11 a.m. update today, the BMS said the system has become slightly better organized and model guidance shows a slow westerly motion with gradual intensification in the short term.

Although the long-term track remains uncertain, the system is forecast to move near Barbados and the eastern Caribbean by the middle of next week.

There are no watches or warnings in effect for Barbados at this time.

The BMS said it will continue to monitor the wave and provide updates, with the next advisory due at noon on Friday.
