Tomorrow is Grooms’ Appreciation Raceday at the historic Garrison Savannah, and it will be a memorable day for the unsung heroes in the sport who spend countless hours with their star equines.

Some of the standout grooms for this second season are Stephen Blaggrove, who conditioned Paper Trail to three wins; Shamar Griffith, who prepared Nostradassa for a double triumph, including the Barbados Derby and Anthony Croney, twice with Seventeenmillionus and another with Red Force.

Carol Fedee (Donna’s True Bling), Virgil Lovell (Enisa), Kerland Felecien (Bahari Cove) and Tarel Burke (Malala also had two wins.

Running off at 2 p.m. the nine-race programme features a clash of great proportions between 2024 Sandy Lane Gold Cup winner Portfolio Company (132) and the Sandy Lane Spa Sprint winner of that same year, Zaeed (125). (LY)
