Barbadian businessman Thomas (Tom) Grant has died.

Grant, who was ailing for some time, passed away at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital yesterday morning at
age 81.

Grant demonstrated his business acumen early, founding Grant’s Auto Parts, a business he started at his grandmother’s humble Tichbourne, Howells Cross Road location more than 50 years ago.

Coming from modest beginnings, the industrious former student of the Modern High School embraced the school’s motto Nihil Est Difficile ad te (Nothing is Too Difficult for You) and took his first job as a parts clerk at a full-service automotive dealership after leaving school, to raise the tuition funds needed to support his dream of one day becoming a dentist.
