So declared Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes as he charged that parents were also not “parenting”.
The Chief Magistrate was speaking as he dealt with five youngsters – 20-year-old Serrian Jamali Scott-Fagan; Damon Hayden Cummins, 16; Tyreall Jamar Kidd, 16; Runaka Jeremiah Nurse, 17; and 18-year-old Dakari Deshawn Carmichael – who were charged in connection with a spate of robberies in four jurisdictions in the past two months.
He noted that young people did not appreciate the number of opportunities which were available to them in Barbados.
