The Lester Vaughan School is closed today due to a challenge being experienced by the Barbados Water Authority (BWA), who is currently working on the issue to get the water supply restored at the school.

A release from the Ministry of Educational Transformation stated that the work may take a “significant time” to be fully operational.

It added: “Therefore, in the interest of health and good hygiene, the school was closed to allow the BWA to resolve the issue in the shortest possible time. The Ministry of Educational Transformation will continue to monitor the situation and communicate next steps as required”.

The ministry thanks the BWA for its responsiveness stating it looked forward to the reopening of the school as soon as possible.
