An unemployed man who Magistrate Manila Renee said continued to be “a nuisance”,was jailed for three months after pleading guilty to three charges.
Veril Glenroy Harewood, 50, of Sargeant Street, St John, admitted that on December 14, he unlawfully assaulted Greg Burt, had a knife while on Tudor Street, The City, and resisted arrest by Constable Joshua Cadogan.
Prosecutor Constable Troy Tudor told the District “A” Magistrates Court No. 2 last week that Burt is a guard at Fusionz Men’s Store on Tudor Street. Harewood had gone into the store and management asked him to leave, but he refused. Burt then approached and informed him that he was not welcomed in the store.
Harewood took a knife from behind his back and pointed it in the guard’s direction, stating: “You t’ink I frighten fuh you?” He then walked out but along the way, tried to take a shirt off a mannequin which was close to the entrance. He was unsuccessful. (SD)
