All eyes will turn to the historic Garrison Savannah tomorrow as the Barbados Turf Club ushers in its first racing season of the year with the staging of the 120th Anniversary Raceday, signalling a fresh start for horsemen and equines alike.

A competitive field of 71 horses is set to contest the opening programme, which gets underway at 1:30 p.m., headlined by John D. Chandler’s classy Dancing Prospector

Rated 98, the seasoned campaigner tops the weights and will carry 126 pounds under apprentice Raheem Thorpe in the feature Darnley C. Da Costa Snr Trophy Handicap over 1 800 metres.

Dancing Prospector, fourth in last year’s Coolmore Home of Champions Stakes & Trophy, returns after a four-month layoff. Prior to the break, he registered his eighth career victory when landing a sharp 1 100-metre contest, defeating the popular filly Enisa. His assignment tomorrow, however, raises a key question: is he sufficiently superior under the weights to repel his challengers?
