Update

Police Public Affairs and Communications Officer, Inspector Ryan Brathwaite, provided an update this morning, stating that around 7 a.m. police operations control received a report of a male lying beneath a truck in the area of Kensington Oval.

Police responded and found the body of a male lying next to the truck. Initial investigations revealed that the man had been travelling in the truck and had disembarked before proceeding along his way. The truck later moved off and collided with him, resulting in fatal injuries.

As a result, the road has been cordoned off from the Westbury Road area. Motorists travelling from the upper section of President Kennedy Drive, coming from the Eagle Hall direction, are being diverted at the traffic lights onto Westbury Road. Vehicles travelling along the Mighty Grynner Highway are required to continue directly onto Fontabelle or turn back to access Prescott Boulevard.

Members of the public are being asked to avoid the area at this time as forensic officers continue investigations to determine the cause of the accident.

More details will be provided as they become available.
