Man injured in collision at Passage Road

Date:

Share post:

One man was undergoing treatment at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital tonight after being involved in a collision with a car along Passage Road, St Michael.

The accident left him pinned to a wall after people in the area reported hearing the screeching of tyres. The pedestrian was on the way to the home of a friend who lives in the area, The Nation understands.

Police cordoned off Passage Road and traffic was being diverted at the junction with Westbury Road and Baxters Road while investigations continued.

The accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. (SAT)

  1. Every sympathy with the poor pedestrian that was injured, and hoping that he achieves a full and speedy recovery. However it must be said that these incidents are becoming commonplace and there must be contributory factors to such an increase. Whilst this incident seemed to happen at dusk, I wonder if walking around in darkness in dark clothing, dazzlingly bright and poorly aligned headlights blinding drivers, and drivers using those poorly aligned super-bright headlamps on full beam (instead of dipped) along with fog lights (when there is no fog) might be contributing?
