The Barbados Police Service is warning the public about a fraudulent notice currently circulating online, which falsely claims to be a “Final Notice of Administrative Penalty for Traffic Violations.”

According to the police, the message purports that a violation record has been verified and entered into the Barbados Police database, and instructs recipients to make online payments to settle alleged fines.

However, authorities have confirmed that the notice is not genuine.

Police stressed that at no time does the Barbados Police Service issue requests for payment of money via such notices or online links.

They are urging members of the public to disregard the message and not to share any personal or financial information in response to it.

The police also confirmed that a full investigation will be carried out into the origin and circulation of the scam notice.
