Kickstart Rush technical director Renaldo Gilkes is turning his full attention to the grassroots development at the club after stepping down as first team coach last Thursday.

Speaking to MIDWEEK SPORT almost a week after officially relinquishing his coaching duties, the former national midfielder revealed that the decision had been under consideration for some time.

“I was actually supposed to do it last season, primarily because I knew the responsibility that was ahead in terms of my tenure as Kickstart technical director, and club manager, and also being that middle man between Kickstart Rush and Rush Soccer in Colorado,” he said.

“This year, I decided to make that step because my involvement with Rush Soccer was becoming a bit more intimate, a bit more serious, so I wouldn’t have been able to do all the things I was doing before.
