St. James man identified as road fatality victim

Police have identified the victim of a fatal collision along Codrington Road, St. Michael, as 55-year-old Juon Aloysius Heywood of Upper Durants Village, Holders Hill, St. James.

Heywood died following a collision involving two motor vans around 11:15 p.m. on Monday, June 8.

Initial investigations indicate that the vehicles were travelling in opposite directions when the crash occurred. Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene, but Heywood showed no signs of life. A doctor later pronounced him dead.

The driver of the second vehicle complained of minor injuries.

Police at District ‘A’ Station are continuing investigations and are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to contact 430-7242 or 430-7246.
