Police confirmed the man detained after an alleged robbery attempt at Clevedale Road, Black Rock, St Michael, died today at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
The man, whose name has not been made public, was reportedly beaten by residents and tied up at the side of the road until police arrived. The incident occurred on June 22.
According to police, two masked men entered a business, brandishing a forearm and demanding valuables. A struggle ensued between the assailants and people in the area, during which the man who was detained sustained injuries.
He was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries. (SAT)
