Adrian “AC” Clarke is the new calypso monarch of Barbados.
AC won his fourth title with 330 points, performing the immensely popular Legends From The Grave before a highly engaged audience at the 2026 Courtesy Garage Pic-O-De-Crop Finals, powered by Q100.7 FM.
Long before the judges made their deliberations, AC’s song seemed to get the nod from the crowd who sang along and loved his use of picong claiming he would be the new king.
He previously won in 2001 with Judgement, 2008 with I Am A Bajan and in 2024 with Going Fuh Crown, putting the exclamation point on a fantastic night for Barbados Public Workers’ Co-operative Credit Union Limited De Big Show calypso tent which claimed three of the top four spots.
Four-time monarch Kid Site from C.O. Williams House of Soca Calypso Tent rolled back the years to place second with Talk Like Mia, which earned 264 points.
In third place was another four-time monarch, iWeb from De Big Show, finishing with 236 points for his performance of Colours in B.
Tent mate and defending champion Mr Blood rounded out the list of announced places with Ain’t Leaving, getting 19 points.
The finals were held at the National Botanical Gardens after Kensington Oval became unavailable due to the staging of the state funeral for late National Hero Sir Garfield Sobers on Wednesday. (SAT)
