“THIS IS WE!” That’s the catchy, new marketing slogan, which local cricket’s governing body, the BCA, will be using over the next three years to reinvigorate interest in the game in Barbados, particularly among the youth and fans.

Details of the new marketing communications plan for the association were unveiled yesterday morning in the Hall and Griffith Conference room at Kensington Oval by BCA vice president Calvin Hope and include a revamped website, a mobile app, greater use of social media platforms and a series of community activities.

“Cricket is an important aspect of Barbadian life and it has been a powerful socio-economic vehicle for the island,” said Hope, chairman of the BCA’s marketing committee.

“As an organisation, we are reflecting on the power of cricket in that regard and we find ourselves hopeful that the power of cricket will continue to be recognised as a major revenue earner for Barbados, its tourism and export sectors.” (AR)
