Barbados Labour Party (BLP) candidate in the November 11 St George North by-election Toni Moore has officially written to Governor General Dame Sandra Mason to announce that she was resigning from the Senate.

The announcement was made by Attorney General Dale Marshall during a (BLP) meeting at Sheffield Playing Field, Lower Estate, St George on Sunday. He said the resignation took effect from October 1.

Moore, a trade union leader, is vying for the seat which was left vacant with the resignation of former BLP Member of Parliament Gline Clarke who was assigned to be High Commissioner at Ottawa. (KG)
