A decade after a murder occurred, an investigator said he had not done fingerprint testing on the firearm allegedly used, nor did he know if it was ever tested for the accused’s fingerprints.

Acting Assistant Superintendent of Police, Bernard Harte, was one of four people giving evidence in the No. 3 Supreme Court yesterday before Justice Carlisle Greaves in the murder trial of Shawn Andre Weekes.

Weekes, 37, of the Crane, St Philip, is charged with murdering 24-year-old Leo Callender, formerly of St Martin’s, in the same parish, on October 29, 2000.

Harte told the court he went to arrest Weekes at Grantley Adams International Airport for the murder of Callender, and transported him to the District “A” Police Station in Station Hill, St Michael, where the Criminal Investigation Department was located at the time. (RA)
